THE SHOWS
Sailimai, a young Muslim schoolgirl, along with a group of her friends, has to solve a series of impossible riddles to save her father from forces that are trying to get him fired from his job. It’s a story about family, friendship, and remembering your faith even when the odds are stacked against you.
“The Ten-Year Test” tells the true story of how New York became the first major city to recognize the Muslim holiday of Eid as an official school holiday, through the persistent work of students and their supporters. The play uses song and rap to show how persistence and teamwork can pay off, and it educates the audience on Muslim culture as well as the unique contributions of American Muslims throughout our history.
In “FAST FRIENDS”, Muslim and non-Muslim children fast for the first time during Ramadan, exploring the reasons why people fast during this holiday. Their classmates, who are not fasting, think of ways to give to the poor and hungry via charity work, allowing all of the children to celebrate Ramadan together.
“All of US” is an original musical about what it means to be an American from a Muslim child’s point of view and a non-Muslim child’s point of view.
